This kit brings together the SGS-12K18MAX 12kW 48V all-in-one hybrid inverter, a full array of bifacial N-type solar panels and one to three PowerMax 314 Outdoor 16.07kWh LiFePO4 batteries. Choose 20 x 450W panels or 18 x 590W panels, with 16.07kWh, 32.14kWh or 48.21kWh of storage.
It is built for homeowners who want to cut grid use, keep the house running in an outage and have room to grow. The inverter handles grid-tied, zero-export and off-grid operation, and both the inverter and the batteries are IP65 rated for indoor or outdoor installation.
The SGS-12K18MAX delivers 12000W of 120/240V split-phase output with a peak of 1.5 times rated power for 10 seconds. Its 200A grid pass-through supports whole-home backup, and it can sell surplus solar, run zero-export, or AC couple with an existing grid-tied inverter. It is listed to UL 1741 SB, IEEE 1547 and California Rule 21.
The 450W option wires 20 panels as two strings of 10, and the 590W option wires 18 panels as two strings of 9, one string per MPPT through a 25A PV breaker. Each MPPT accepts up to 9000W and 32A with a 550Vdc maximum, so the array stays inside the inverter's limits.
Both panel models are N-type bifacial dual glass modules that SunGold says can harvest up to 30% more energy from the rear side. The 450W SGN-450-BDG5 has 22.5% module efficiency and a black frame, and the 590W SGN-590-BDG1 has 22.8% module efficiency. Both are UL 61730 certified and CEC Listed, with a 30-year linear power warranty.
Each PowerMax 314 Outdoor battery stores 16.07kWh, with 15.42kWh usable and 7.68kW of continuous power. SunGold rates it for 8000 cycles at 80% DOD, and up to 16 batteries can run in parallel. The batteries are certified to UL 1973 and tested to UL 9540A.
The two- and three-battery options add 4/0 AWG battery cables, a 300A DC breaker and a 400A bus bar, so the batteries connect to the inverter through one protected DC run.
Timed charge and discharge lets you use battery power during peak-rate hours. The inverter and batteries communicate over RS485 and CAN, with WiFi and Bluetooth app monitoring.
Whole-home backup. Keep refrigerators, lights, fans and air conditioners running through an outage.
Lower power bills. Use stored solar in the evening and during peak-rate hours.

The 450W option uses 20 panels for 9000W of solar, each 69.37 x 44.65 inches and 53.35 lbs. The 590W option uses 18 larger panels for 10620W, each 89.69 x 44.65 inches and 69.45 lbs. Choose 450W panels for easier handling, or 590W panels for more output from fewer modules.
A grid-tied system without batteries shuts down in an outage. This kit stores solar energy and keeps your loads running when the grid is lost.
One battery gives 16.07kWh for essential loads. Two or three batteries give 32.14kWh or 48.21kWh for longer outages or more evening use.
Each battery weighs 271 lbs and the inverter 105.82 lbs, so plan for freight delivery and help to place them. A qualified electrician should install the system, following SunGold's wiring diagram for your option. Racking and mounting hardware for the panels are not included.
