The SunGold Power 13kW 48VDC Off-Grid Solar Kit is a complete off-grid system built around two 6500W split phase inverters. It includes twelve 370W monocrystalline black panels for a 4440W array, four 5.12kWh wall-mounted LiFePO4 batteries for 20.48kWh of storage, and the breakers, busbar, cables and mounting brackets that tie the system together.
SunGold estimates the array produces around 17.7kWh per day based on 4 hours of sun. That makes the kit a practical fit for a cabin, small home or remote property that needs 120/240V power and would rather hang batteries on a wall than fill a rack. The system is ready to grow, with room for more inverters, batteries and panels later.
Each inverter is rated at 6500W with a 13,000VA peak and a pure sine wave output of 120/240Vac, split phase or single phase. Working together, the pair delivers 13000W of continuous power. A typical 10ms switch time keeps loads running when the system changes power source.
The four SG48100M batteries are 51.2V 100Ah lithium iron phosphate units of 5.12kWh each. SunGold rates them for at least 7000 cycles and a calendar life of 15 years or more. Each has an LCD and a built-in BMS that protects against overcharge, deep discharge, overload, overheating and short circuit. The included 400A busbar joins all four in parallel.
The panels use 120 half-cut mono cells with a module efficiency of 20.31%. They have an IP68 junction box and passed load tests of 5400 Pa for snow and 2400 Pa for wind. SunGold's wiring diagram connects them as two strings of six panels in series, one string per inverter, with a 25A PV breaker on each.
Each inverter has two MPPT inputs rated 5000W each, with up to 550Vdc open circuit voltage and a 150 to 450Vdc operating range. SunGold rates MPPT tracking efficiency at 99.9%. SunGold's diagram uses one input per inverter, which leaves the second input on each unit unused.
Each inverter accepts a utility or generator connection that can power loads and charge the batteries at up to 80A, with a maximum mixed charge current of 140A. Four charging modes, four output modes and a time-slot charge and discharge function let you decide when solar, battery or AC power takes priority.
Up to six identical inverters can be paralleled for 120V single phase, 120/240V split phase or 208V three phase output. Three phase needs more than three units. The batteries support up to 63 units in parallel, so storage can grow with your loads.
Off-grid cabins. Power lighting, a refrigerator, a TV and fans at a remote cabin with 20.48kWh of storage for evening use.
Rural homes with a generator. Run household 120V and 240V loads from solar and let a generator recharge the batteries during long cloudy stretches.
