The SunGold Power 25A PV Breaker (NB1-C25A) is a 2-pole DC circuit breaker rated at 25 amps and 500V DC for solar systems. It sits between a solar string and your charge controller or inverter, protecting the wiring from overcurrent and giving you a convenient way to disconnect the array for service.
SunGold includes 25A PV breakers in many of its off-grid and hybrid solar kits, typically one per PV input or string.
Both the positive and negative PV conductors pass through the breaker, so one switch disconnects the full circuit.
The rating suits typical solar strings feeding SunGold all-in-one inverters and MPPT charge controllers.
The breaker trips on overcurrent and doubles as a manual PV disconnect when you need to work on the system.
Solar kits. Protect each PV input on an all-in-one inverter.
Charge controller inputs. Add a disconnect between the array and an MPPT controller.
System upgrades. Replace or add PV protection when expanding an array.
Versus the 50A PV breaker. Choose the 50A model for higher current PV circuits, such as parallel strings.
