The SunGold Power 6.5kW 48VDC Off-Grid Solar Kit (SGK-65PRO) is SunGold's complete off-grid kit built on a 6500W 48V split phase inverter. Six 450W monocrystalline PERC panels supply the solar, and four 12V 200Ah LiFePO4 batteries with Bluetooth form a 10.24kWh bank.
It suits off-grid homes, cabins and shops that need 240V circuits and batteries that can warm themselves in cold weather. A 160A DC breaker, a 25A PV breaker, a 1/0 AWG cable set and Z-brackets for all six panels complete the package.
The SPH6548P supplies 6500W of rated output with a 13000VA peak, as 120/240V split phase or 120V single phase. Switching takes a typical 10ms.
Each of the two MPPT controllers accepts up to 5000W at up to 550V open circuit. The 2700W array uses part of that, so you can add panels later without changing inverters.
Four 12V 200Ah batteries in series make the 48V bank. Each one stores 2560Wh, has a built-in 200A BMS and is rated IP65. SunGold rates the cells for 4000+ deep cycles.
Each battery warms itself below 33.8°F (1°C) and stops at 42.8°F (6°C). An LCD shows voltage and state of charge, and Bluetooth sends battery data to the SGP Battery app on iOS or Android.
The SG450WM panels reach 20.79% module efficiency with 120 PERC cells, IP68 junction boxes and anodized aluminum frames.
Grid or generator power charges at up to 80A, and solar plus AC charging together reach 140A.
Up to six units can run in parallel for up to 39KW, in single phase, split phase or 208V three phase.
Cabins used through winter. Self-heating batteries keep the bank ready to charge through winter.
Off-grid homes with 240V loads. Feed a split phase panel for 120V outlets and 240V circuits.
Shops and barns. Run 240V equipment and lighting from solar, with a generator as backup charging.
Future expansion. Add panels to the spare MPPT capacity, or add inverters in parallel.
Versus one large 48V battery. This bank uses four 12V batteries, each with its own Bluetooth, LCD and self-heating. A series bank does need matched, evenly charged batteries.
Versus pairing two 120V inverters. The 6500W inverter covers 240V circuits on its own, without a second unit.
Versus generator-only power. Solar and batteries carry the daily load, and the generator becomes a charging source at up to 80A.
