The SunGold Power 60 Amp MPPT Solar Charge Controller (SGC482560A) manages the flow of energy from your solar panels to your battery bank. Its maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm operates at over 99 percent tracking efficiency, pulling the most available power from your array as sunlight and temperature change throughout the day.
It automatically detects 12V, 24V, 36V, and 48V battery systems, accepts PV open circuit voltages up to 250V, and supports lead acid, gel, flooded, lithium, and user-defined battery profiles. Built-in Bluetooth lets you monitor performance from a phone app, and an isolated RS485 port supports communication and parallel operation.
MPPT controllers convert excess panel voltage into additional charging current. SunGold rates this controller at over 99 percent tracking efficiency and up to 98 percent charging conversion efficiency.
With a 250V maximum PV open circuit voltage and an MPPT range from battery voltage plus 2V up to 180V, you can wire panels in series to reduce current and wire size between the array and the controller.
The controller delivers up to 60 amps, settable from 0 to 60A. SunGold lists recommended PV power of 800W on 12V, 1600W on 24V, and 3200W on 48V systems.
The controller recognizes 12V, 24V, 36V, and 48V battery banks automatically, and battery type can be set from the keypad, LCD, or app.
Built-in Bluetooth 4.0 BLE connects to SunGold's mobile app for real-time monitoring. The LCD shows system data and settings, and the isolated RS485 port supports communication and parallel operation of multiple controllers.
Protection covers battery overcharge and over-discharge, PV reverse polarity, reverse charging at night, controller over-temperature with linear power reduction, and charge over-current. A programmable relay and battery temperature sensing are also built in.
