The Renogy 1000W 12V Pure Sine Wave Inverter converts DC power from a 12V battery bank into 115V, 60 Hz AC power. It delivers 1000W continuous output and a 2000W surge rating for one second, with a pure sine wave output and total harmonic distortion under 3%.
It's built for vans, semi-trucks, fifth wheels, cabins and other off-grid setups that need household-style power from a 12V system. It has two AC outlets, a USB port, a hardwire AC terminal block and a wired remote, so you can plug in small loads or feed a sub-panel.
The waveform is similar to grid power, with very low harmonic distortion. Renogy says this lets the inverter supply electronics that need a high-quality waveform, including tools, fans, lights and computers, without interference or buzzing.
The inverter is rated for 1000W continuous output (8.3A AC) and a 2000W surge for one second to handle start-up loads. Peak efficiency is over 90%, and efficiency at full load is over 85%.
Two 115V AC outlets supply up to 8.7A. A 5V/2.1A USB port charges phones and tablets. For loads above 15A, or for wiring to a sub-panel or extra outlets, use the AC terminal block under the protective cover.
The included remote switches the inverter on and off from up to 16.4 ft away using the 5 m RJ11 cable. The inverter's ON/OFF/REM switch must be in the REM position to use it.
The inverter has GFCI, overload, overtemperature, overvoltage, short-circuit and undervoltage protection. Green, yellow and red LEDs show power, GFCI and fault status, and an alarm sounds on low or high input voltage.
The cooling fan runs as the inverter needs it. The inverter operates from -4°F to 104°F (-20°C to 40°C).
Van and RV power. Run small AC loads from a 12V house battery, and mount the remote inside the living space.
Semi-trucks. Renogy suggests mounting the inverter under the seat to free interior space. Follow the clearance guidance in the manual.
Cabins and off-grid sites. Pair it with a 12V battery bank and a solar charging source for AC power where there is no grid.
Camping. Charge phones from the USB port or plug in small appliances while parked.
Renogy notes that modified sine wave inverters are older technology and generally cost less. They can run many standard appliances, but may cause trouble with delicate electronics or audio equipment, and some equipment runs hotter. A pure sine wave inverter like this one costs more but works with a wider range of equipment.
Renogy's manual lists 700W, 1000W, 2000W and 3000W models in this series. This 1000W model has two AC outlets and a 4 AWG cable pair included. The larger models are built for heavier loads and need heavier battery cables.
Add up the watts of everything you will run at the same time and keep the total below 1000W continuous. Watts equal volts times amps. This inverter works only with 12V battery systems, not 24V. Renogy says it works with deep-cycle sealed lead-acid, flooded, gel or 12V lithium batteries. It does not charge batteries, so you need a separate charging source.
Renogy lists a 150A battery fuse for this model and recommends using one. Use the thickest wire that's practical, in the shortest length, and keep the inverter close to the battery bank. Mount it on a horizontal surface in a cool, dry, ventilated spot with at least 10 inches of clearance, not in the same compartment as the batteries. Renogy recommends installation by a qualified technician following local and national electric codes. Never connect the AC output to a breaker panel or load center that is also fed by the utility or a generator.
No. This model works only with 12V battery systems.
No. It only converts DC power to AC power. If you need to charge batteries from AC, look at an inverter charger instead.
Yes, as long as the lithium battery is rated for 12V applications.
No. Renogy states that no Bluetooth module is compatible with this inverter. You control it with the ON/OFF/REM switch or the wired remote.
The Renogy 1000W 12V Pure Sine Wave Inverter gives you pure sine wave AC power, a USB port and a wired remote from a 12V battery bank. If you have questions about sizing your battery bank or matching cables and fuses, the Outbound Power team is happy to help.
