The DuroMax XP13750HX Keeps Your Home Powered On Gasoline Or Propane

The DuroMax XP13750HX is a 13,750-watt dual fuel portable generator made for home backup. Its 500cc DuroMax engine produces 11,000 running and 13,750 peak watts on gasoline and 10,500 running and 13,000 peak watts on propane, so you can switch to whichever fuel is easier to get during an outage.

It pairs a 50A home backup outlet with remote start, a 9.3-gallon tank, an included AGM battery and CO Alert shutdown, and DuroMax covers it with a 5-year parts and technical service warranty.

DuroMax XP13750HX Features

Dual Fuel Flexibility For Longer Outages

Choose gasoline or propane with the fuel selector. Propane stores for long periods without going stale, and a 4-foot propane hose with regulator is in the box, so a standard 40 lb tank or larger is all you need to switch fuels.

11,000 Running Watts For Big Household Loads

On gasoline, 11,000 running watts leave room for several large loads at once. DuroMax rates it for refrigerators, central air conditioning, lights and everyday appliances. Total your running watts, plus the starting watts of your largest motor, before you connect.

A 50A Outlet Ready For Home Backup

The 120/240V 50A outlet (NEMA 14-50R) connects to an interlock or transfer switch through a 50A generator cord, sold separately. A 120/240V 30A twist-lock outlet (NEMA L14-30R) and four 120V 20A GFCI outlets (NEMA 5-20R) cover extension cords and tools.

Remote Start With The Battery Included

Start it with the included remote control, the panel push button or the recoil backup. The 12V AGM starting battery is included, and DuroMax says AGM lasts longer and starts more easily in cold weather.

CO Alert Shuts The Engine Down If CO Builds Up

A built-in sensor shuts the engine off if carbon monoxide reaches unsafe levels around the generator. Treat it as a backup layer of protection. Always run the generator outdoors, far from windows, doors and vents, with working CO alarms inside the home.

9.3-Gallon Tank For About 11 Hours At Half Load

DuroMax rates about 15.3 hours at 25% load and 11 hours at 50% load on a full tank of gasoline. On a 40 lb propane tank, expect about 13.6 hours at 25% load and 7.5 hours at 50% load. A spill guard surrounds the gasoline fill.

Faster Assembly And Simpler Upkeep

This generation arrives with a preassembled U-handle, quick-install wheel axles, preinstalled support-foot nuts and no shipping brace to remove. An easy-access battery door, a quick-connect battery connection, an oil drain hose and a battery tender port make maintenance and storage simpler.

Copper Windings And A Cast Iron Sleeve

The alternator has 100% copper windings and the engine uses a cast iron cylinder sleeve. Automatic low-oil shutdown protects the engine if the oil runs low.

Real-World Applications

  • Home backup. Run central AC, a refrigerator, lights and other circuits through an interlock or transfer switch, within its running watts.
  • Propane-ready households. Keep a few propane tanks on hand for outages instead of storing large amounts of gasoline.
  • Storm season. Switch between gasoline and propane when one is hard to find after a hurricane or winter storm.
  • RVs. DuroMax lists it as RV ready, and the 14-50R outlet matches 50A RV service.
  • Job sites and food trucks. GFCI outlets and a 30A twist-lock outlet power tools, lights and cooking equipment.

Practical Comparison

DuroMax XP13750HX Versus DuroMax XP13000HX

Feature DuroMax XP13750HX DuroMax XP13000HX

Dimensions 28 x 21.75 x 23.75 in 30 x 29 x 26 in
Dry Weight 238 lb 240 lb

The XP13750HX adds remote start, 500 more running watts on gasoline, a larger tank and a smaller footprint. The DuroMax XP13000HX costs less and adds a 30A L5-30R outlet.

DuroMax XP13750HX Versus DuroMax XP13750HXT

The DuroMax XP13750HXT adds natural gas operation and a natural gas hose. If your home has a gas line you may want to use, choose the HXT. If you only need gasoline and propane, the HX costs less.

Buyer Guidance

Not For Sale In California

The XP13750HX is EPA certified but not CARB compliant, so it is not available for sale in California.

Connect It With A Licensed Electrician

Have a licensed electrician install the interlock or transfer switch and confirm how the generator should be grounded for your setup, including its neutral-to-frame bond.

Plan For Propane

DuroMax recommends at least a 40 lb propane tank and requires the included regulator, with at least 3 PSI of supply pressure at all loads. Propane runtime is shorter than gasoline, so keep spare tanks if you expect long outages.

This May Be A Good Fit If

  • You want a large home backup generator that runs on gasoline or propane
  • You plan to connect through a 50A interlock or transfer switch
  • You want remote start, which the XP13000HX does not have
  • You don't need natural gas operation
  • You live outside California

Common Questions

Can The DuroMax XP13750HX Power My Whole House?

DuroMax says it can run central AC, refrigerators, lights and other appliances. What it can run at the same time depends on your home, so total your running watts, allow for the largest motor's start and have a licensed electrician connect it through an interlock or transfer switch.

Does The XP13750HX Have Remote Start?

Yes. A remote control comes in the box, and you can also use the push button on the panel or the recoil starter.

How Long Does It Run On Propane?

About 13.6 hours at 25% load and 7.5 hours at 50% load on a 40 lb tank, according to DuroMax.

Can It Run On Natural Gas?

No. The XP13750HX runs on gasoline and propane. For natural gas, choose the DuroMax XP13750HXT.

What Warranty Does It Have?

DuroMax covers it with a 5-year parts and technical service warranty, backed by USA-based support and service centers nationwide.
