The DuroMax XP13750HXT Backs Up Your Home On Gasoline, Propane Or Natural Gas

The DuroMax XP13750HXT is a 13,750-watt tri-fuel portable generator built for home backup. Its 500cc DuroMax engine delivers 11,000 running and 13,750 peak watts on gasoline, 10,500 running and 13,000 peak watts on propane, and 9,250 running and 11,250 peak watts on natural gas, so you can run on whichever fuel you have when the power goes out.

A 50A outlet for an interlock or transfer switch, remote start, a 9.3-gallon tank and CO Alert shutdown round it out, and DuroMax backs it with a 5-year parts and technical service warranty.

DuroMax XP13750HXT Features

Three Fuels So You Can Use What You Have

Turn the fuel selector to run on gasoline, propane or natural gas. A 15-foot, 3/4-inch natural gas hose with quick connect and a 4-foot propane hose with regulator come in the box. Once a licensed gas professional connects it to your home's natural gas supply, you can skip refueling trips during long outages.

11,000 Running Watts For Central AC And Major Appliances

With 11,000 running watts on gasoline, the XP13750HXT has room for several large loads at once. DuroMax rates it for refrigerators, central air conditioning, lights and everyday appliances. Add up your running watts, plus the starting watts of the largest motor, before you connect.

Home Backup Ready With A 50A Outlet

A 120/240V 50A outlet (NEMA 14-50R) connects to a generator interlock or transfer switch with a 50A generator cord, sold separately. A 120/240V 30A twist-lock outlet (NEMA L14-30R) and four 120V 20A GFCI outlets (NEMA 5-20R) handle cords, tools and lights.

Remote, Push Button And Recoil Start

Start the generator with the included remote control, the push button on the panel or the backup recoil starter. The 12V AGM battery that powers electric start is included, and DuroMax says AGM gives it a longer battery life and easier cold-weather starts.

CO Alert Shuts The Engine Down If CO Builds Up

A built-in sensor stops the engine if carbon monoxide builds to unsafe levels around the generator. It never replaces safe placement, so always run the generator outdoors, far from windows, doors and vents.

9.3-Gallon Tank For About 11 Hours At Half Load

DuroMax rates about 15.3 hours at 25% load and 11 hours at 50% load on a full tank of gasoline. On a 40 lb propane tank, plan on about 13.6 hours at 25% load and 7.5 hours at 50% load. A spill guard surrounds the gasoline fill.

Quicker Setup And Easier Maintenance

The U-handle comes preassembled, the wheel axles install quickly and there is no shipping brace to remove. An easy-access battery door, a quick-connect battery connection, an oil drain hose and a battery tender port make upkeep simpler.

Copper Windings And Low-Oil Shutdown

The alternator uses 100% copper windings, the engine has a cast iron cylinder sleeve, and automatic low-oil shutdown protects it if the oil level drops.

Real-World Applications

  • Home backup. Connect through an interlock or transfer switch to run central AC, a refrigerator, lights and other circuits within its running watts.
  • Natural gas homes. Run from your gas line through long outages instead of storing gasoline.
  • RVs. DuroMax lists it as RV ready, and the 14-50R outlet matches 50A RV service.
  • Job sites and food trucks. GFCI outlets and a 30A twist-lock outlet run tools, lights and cooking equipment.

The XP13750HXT adds 500 running watts on gasoline, a larger tank and a smaller footprint. Choose the DuroMax XP13000HXT if you need its 30A L5-30R outlet or want to spend less.

DuroMax XP13750HXT Versus DuroMax XP13750HX

The DuroMax XP13750HX has the same engine, outlets and gasoline and propane output, without the natural gas option. Choose the HXT if you have, or plan to add, a natural gas connection.

Buyer Guidance

Not For Sale In California

The XP13750HXT is EPA certified but not CARB compliant, so it is not available for sale in California.

Connect It With A Licensed Electrician

Have a licensed electrician install the interlock or transfer switch. The neutral is bonded to the frame at the factory. DuroMax advises removing the bond before connecting to a standard 2-pole transfer switch or interlock, and its unbonding instructions are linked below. Only a qualified electrician should do this, and an unbonded generator must be grounded through the home.

Plan The Fuel Supply

Have a licensed gas plumber size the natural gas line for full load. DuroMax calls for 6.0 to 9.0 inches of water column at the inlet and at least a 3/4-inch quick connect. For propane, use at least a 40 lb tank and the included regulator.

This May Be A Good Fit If

  • You want one generator that runs on gasoline, propane or natural gas
  • You plan to back up your home through a 50A interlock or transfer switch
  • You want remote start with the battery already included
  • You live outside California

Common Questions

Can The DuroMax XP13750HXT Power My Whole House?

DuroMax says it can run central AC, refrigerators, lights and other appliances. Whether it can run everything at once depends on your home. Add up running watts, allow for the largest motor's start and have a licensed electrician connect it through an interlock or transfer switch.

How Long Does It Run On A Tank Of Gasoline?

About 11 hours at 50% load and 15.3 hours at 25% load on the 9.3-gallon tank, according to DuroMax.

Is The XP13750HXT An Inverter Generator?

No. It is an open-frame generator with total harmonic distortion under 5%, and DuroMax says its power is cleaner than previous-generation models. For lower distortion, compare the DuroMax XP13500iHT inverter generator.

What Warranty Does It Have?

DuroMax covers it with a 5-year parts and technical service warranty, backed by USA-based support and service centers nationwide.
